We kicked off the 2026/2027 season with a little surf trip to Phan Rang. A few days with the crew and local riders, exploring the coastline and finding a few spots worth coming back to.

The crew scored small peelers perfect for longboarding, alongside more powerful waves for intermediate and advanced surfers. There were even some first barrels. We’ll let the photos tell that part.

Phan Rang is a beautiful place, and it’s interesting to see its surf scene growing and changing. We’re keeping the exact spots quiet, with respect for the places and the people who surf there.

Meanwhile, the same swell reached Mui Ne, where our team was in the water with beginners, families and students working through their surf courses.  A little road trip for some of the crew, and plenty happening back home too.

Surf season in Mui Ne November to March is our main surf season in Mui Ne, bringing more regular wave days and more opportunities to get in the water. It’s a great place to start surfing or spend a few days improving.

When the swell arrives, there are waves for more experienced riders too. With several spots around Mui Ne, we adjust our sessions to the conditions, the group’s level and how busy the water is.

Vietnam is still under the radar for many people planning a surf trip in Southeast Asia. For us, a big part of its appeal is the local life around the surfing and the people you get to know while you’re here. That time together matters to us. Surfing, finding somewhere to eat, meeting the local crew and staying a little longer than planned. We like keeping people connected, like our own little group of sardines.

This season, we’re also working on adding accommodation and shared brunches to our surf course experience. We’ll share more once the details are ready. For now, lessons and surf courses are running, and we’re happy to welcome new faces and returning friends. Come join us this season at Mui Ne Local Surf School.
